Hi, my name is Dove Thomas. I am presently a Queens College GSLIS student and hope to

graduate in May 2011 after taking the dreaded 709 class in the spring. I have BA and MAT

degrees from Stony Brook University. I spent twenty years working in the insurance industry,

and have had my fill of corporate America. While working as a substitute teacher, I got a six

week sub assignment for the high school librarian after she fell and broke her ankle. I

discovered the library was the place for me, and with the encouragement of the staff there,

signed up for my first class and here I am. I am currently seeking a position as a public librarian.

I am an avid runner, more for meditation than competition these days, and I also love to read,

knit, and see as many art/indie movies as I can at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, NY

I'm currently reading Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann

Last movie: You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger

Current Knitting project: Knitting Pure & Simple Children's Neckdown Bolero (on the back burner), and Cat Bordhi Moebius Cowls as holiday gifts.

Hi, Dove,

Welcome back! Congratulations of surviving 709 and 751 at the same time in the Sprinig! Those are not easy courses. I can see that you are more relaxed after summer break. I am happy for your anticipated graduation in the Spring. You may look into working at an academic library since you will have two master's degrees by May if there is an opportunity. Best wishes and I hope you will enjoy the course this semester... not sufferiing through...

Rowena- I'm not anticipating any suffering this semester. I'm saving that for the spring and 709...
Question: The view of my page shows the alignment of the text to be uneven around the photo. When I click on Edit- the page comes up aligned the way I want it. I hit Save and return to the view page, and it is still misaligned. I tried to correct this several times to no avail... What am I doing wrong??
Thanks.
Dove

Dove,

When I first look at your page, I noticed it. But I was sure you would try to make it look better. You did not do anything wrong. To make it look even, you have to define the right margin for that image. Well, you have to click Edit button and look at the top edit tool bar, there is a source button, looks like <>Souce, click that button. When you click that button, you will see all the html codes for your page. From the second line, you have

 H<img id="pbImage828699" style="border: 0pt none; float: left;"

Add

margin-right: 20px;

inside the last ", so it should be:

 H<img id="pbImage828699" style="border: 0pt none; float: left; margin-right: 20px;"

This should be it. Let me know if it does not work.

Rowena
