Many of the things that happen in my life seem as unexpected. Librarianship is one of them. When I was young I wished to be a firefighter, then an accountant. At one point I considered teaching, then social work. And finally I decided to become a librarian. The story is pretty long. However, the short version is simple. I started to work in a library and got interested.
I did my B.A. at Lehman College with a major in Linguistics. I tutored at Lehman for a while in some writing, Spanish, Linguistics, CPE, and ACT. Then I started to work at the Lehman College Library. I worked in periodicals, reference, circulation, and presently I am working in the Interlibrary Loan department. I can say that I truly learned a lot from my colleagues.
My favovrite novels are Breath, Eyes, Memory by Edwidge Danticat and Kindgom of this world by Alejo Carpentier. I love watching movies. So far Patch Adams with Robin Williams and Legend of Bagger Vance with Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Matt Damon are on my top list. I enjoy going to the gym, jogging, and traveling. In the future I would like to learn ASL, French, Swimming, Piano, Martial Arts, Driving, Cooking, and all the other mundane stuff that makes life fun
If there is a cool site I would recommend to tvmaniacs and movie watchers it would be www.imdb.com.

Hi, Daniel,
Oh, your list is not far off. Here is mine: sky diving (jumping off the plane) - archeaologist (at some rural site... in the sun, digging bones) - psychologist - linguist (teaching ESL) - computer software programmer - public library as a librarian - academic library as a librarian - school librarian (now) - psychologist - academia teaching. I guess I just stop here now. Who knows what is the next.
Welcome to the class! I can see from your post you have a lot of positive energy. I hope we will see your unique contributions to this class.
