My Name is Chris Smith. I graduated from a small college in western PA with a MA in Communications. After declining an option for law school, I dabbled with film school. This did not work out, so I moved to NYC and soon after enrolled at NYU. I graduated with an MA in Environmental Conservation Education and then worked in Environmental Ed. for over 5 years. After becoming a victim of downsizing, I initiated the process to become certified to teach as a NYC public school teacher. I began teaching, yet quickly found out that teaching full time in the classroom was not for me—at least the classroom I was in. My hope is that libraries will present a more suitable work environment, and I genuinely appreciate the services they provide. I also have a number of additional interests within this field. I am currently seeking my first library job.
